Frequently Asked Questions

+ Do I even need a makeup artist?

Yes! In addition to it being one less stress on your big day, having your makeup professionally done ensures that it will be suitable for camera and video, lasts through your wedding day, and is custom created to highlight your best features. You're going to have the images from your wedding day for the rest of your life so it's great to make sure you look like the best version of yourself!

+ Do you offer airbrush makeup? What's the difference from traditional application?

Yes. I offer airbrush makeup services. Airbrush is an advanced makeup technique that disperses makeup via air into a mist that is sprayed onto the skin. For some people airbrush makeup feels more lightweight than tradtional application and can have a longer wear time. Airbrush is great for more troubled or acneic skin types as you do not have to disturb any blemishes with application. I offer not only airbrush foundation, but airbrushing for blush, highlighting, and sculpting (contouring) the face.

Traditional makeup is the most versatile as it comes in almost unlimited colors and formulations (creams, powders, liquids). It can be just as light and long wearing, and can be more suitable for certain skin types such as very mature skin that needs more hydration or those with indented textures as the makeup can be pressed into the skin.

Both techniques will give you a beautiful look so it comes down to personal preference that we can discover with a preview session.

+ Do you offer trials or consultations?

Yes. I offer previews of makeup services so that we can work together to create the perfect look for you without the stress and time constraints of the actual wedding day. Previews are available a la carte or packaged at a reduced rate with a signed contract of services.

Complementary 15 minutes phone consulations are also avaialable for any questions you may have that are not answered here.

+ Do you offer false lashes?

Yes. Lashes are included for the bride and bridal party members. Upgraded lash types (mink, faux mink) can be added for a small fee.

+ Will you travel to me for my wedding?

Yes. I will travel to you and your bridal party on the day of your wedding. You'll be able to get ready in the comfort of your home or venue and not have to drive to multiple locations for services. There is no travel fee within the majority of the KC Metro Area. If your location is outside the immeadiate area, a travel fee will apply.

+ Will you travel for destination weddings?

Yes! Whether out of state or out of country I am open to travelling for destination weddings. Please contact me for a custom quote and further information.

+ Do you offer "eyes only" or partial services?

No. I do not offer partial services. We can apply as little or as much makeup as you wish, but the price per person will not change whether your desired look is very natural or very glamorous.

+ Do you offer tattoo coverage?

Yes. Please contact me for a specific consultation and quote. Price varies based on location, size, and coloring.

+ What brands of makeup do you use?

All itmes within my kit have been tested for performance and quality. You will see a mix of brands that you may recognize and other professional brands you may not. I choose the items for my kit with the utmost care and am constantly looking for the best items from each brand. I attend makeup artist trade shows in order to learn about the latest and most innovative products and to discover what some of the biggest makeup artists in the industry are trusting for their own kits. A sampling of brands that I carry include Temptu, Viseart, Urban Decay, MAC, NARS, Makeup Forever, Lorac, Becca, and many more!

+ How much time do makeup applications take?

Applications can take 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the desired look. Brides are always given between 45min-1hr in order to make sure every detail is perfected on the wedding day. For preview sessions I alot two hours so that we can relex and try a few different options to discover what is right for you! We can work together to create a timeline for your big day and if needed I can bring on additional makeup artists to assist with large bridal parties and tight timelines.

+ What happens at a preview session?

This is your time to experiment with your desired wedding day look! On the big day you don't want to waste time deciding between multiple lip colors or how dark you would like your smokey eye, so instead we do this before the actual wedding to give you peace of mind. We can even try different looks on each half of the face, ex. airbrush vs tradtional, or a neutral shimmery eye vs a light smokey eye. Try to limit any helpful friends or family members to 1 or 2, as too many opinions can often make a bride doubt the vision she has in mind.

+ Do you have my complexion color? Can you handle different skin types?

Absolutely! As a professional makeup artist I carry shades to cover every skintone and can custom mix whenever necessary to get a more perfect match. A professional artist should never ask you to provide your own foundation, no matter your skin tone.

I can work on various skin types, whether dry, oily, mature, acneic or if you have redness, rosacea, or hyperpigmentation.

+ Are you open to LGBTQ+ Weddings?

Absolutely! I believe all love is love and am more than happy to work with all couples, no matter who they love or how they identify.

+ I'd like to have you for my wedding! How do I book and secure my wedding date?

To book you wedding date please Contact Me and confirm your date is still available. If available, a signed contract of services and paid retainer fee is required to secure your date. Until both are returned completed the date is not formally held.

If you have a popular wedding date, securing your date as soon as possible will ensure you have the provider of your choice. Like other wedding services, booking 6 months to a 1 year out is not uncommon. I do take last minute weddings if I am available, but depending on how much time we have trials may or may not be available.

+ Do I tip?

Gratuities are not reflected in pricing and are left at the complete discretion of the client. Any gratuties received are very much appreciated if you feel like you have received excellent service.
